Fun Things That Your Computer Can Do

Computers are fascinating machines with a wide range of uses ranging from functional to frivolous. Entertainment is a common use of a computer in modern society. You may see several people wiling away their spare time with their computers without ever running out of new and interesting ways to stave off boredom.

Access the Internet
The Internet has a host of interesting things you can do. You can chat with friends over the Internet, read funny jokes and play games. You can also connect with strangers who share your views on certain topics through forums and chat rooms. Online access can also provide you with the tools to cook a dish or build something. The Internet can be a dangerous place, though, so always browse with caution and never provide a stranger with your personal information.
Music
Your computer has the ability to play music, which can be both fun and relaxing. With the right speakers and sound card, your computer can produce a high definition sound that works well for parties or just easy listening by yourself. You can pay for individual songs and store them virtually on your computer or you can play music from one of your favorite CDs. You you can use Windows Media Player to listen to your personal music collection.

Videos
A DVD player disc drive makes it possible to watch some of your favorite DVD movies on your computer. Slide the disk into your drive and let it play using a media reader application such as Windows Media Player. You can easily fast forward or rewind your movie in most media playing applications. You also can watch movies and television shows online if your Internet connection is fast enough.
Games
Most computers come with a few offline games that you can play at your leisure, but it is always possible to install more games. You can install digital versions of real world games such as chess or poker or various sports, and explore the wide range of other games made for the computer, possibly including a computer version of your favorite console games. Some companies include exclusive content only available in the computer version of their games. You can choose to play these games using your keyboard and mouse, or purchase a gaming controller designed for your computer.
