How to Communicate With Other Computers Via Webcam


Having a webcam attached to your PC or laptop allows you to record video and chat to friends visually. Instant messaging programs such as Windows Live Messenger is a free program that comes on the Windows operating system of your computer. This can be used to communicate with friends on other computers, in the form of a one-on-one webcam conversation.

Instructions

1. Double-click on the Windows Live Messenger desktop icon to open the program.

2. Enter the username and password for your account and click on "Sign In."

3. Double-click on the name of the person on your friends list with whom you'd like to have a webcam conversation.

4. Click on "Actions" from the toolbar on the conversation window and move the cursor over "Call."

5. Select "Call Computer" from the section drop-down menu. Wait for your friend to select "Accept." Both webcams will now load up and you will be able to have a conversation.
